Featuring an ensemble cast of actors like Manoj Bajpayee, Jimmy Sheirgill, Prosenjit Chatterjee, Parambrata Chatterjee, Divya Dutta, Amol Parashar and Vishal Singh, ‘Traffic’ promises to be an emotional thriller in which doctors and traffic cops work together to give a new lease of life to a girl.

It is based on a real-life incident in which a patient, who was suffering from a threatening heart disease in Chennai, was saved by the precise coordination of doctors from two hospitals and the city’s traffic police. They transported a donor’s organ for heart transplant within 11 minutes. This case also became a reason to start the green corridor initiative. The late Rajesh Pillai, who had directed the award-winning Malayalam original, has helmed the thriller.

Manoj Bajpayee: I have very minimal dialogues in ‘Traffic’

Deepak Dhar, MD and CEO Endemol Shine India, which is backing the movie, says, “This film is yet another example of our company’s efforts to bring great content to the Indian audience. ‘Traffic’ is realistic cinema at its best and is a result of our collaboration with Rajesh to bring to screen a story that started a nationwide humanitarian initiative to save lives.”
